Update on My Strategies for Longevity

Here are two notable sources of technical stuff on NOT AGING, followed by supplements I use to aid in that effort:

https://www.fightaging.org/: Written by a bright guy with the name Reason; he puts up three articles per week-day without fail. Format is: Study Title, followed by his very reasoned comments, an excerpt from the study (usually part of the Abstract or Conclusions) and a link to the study in case you want to dig deeper. I’m addicted – have to read every day.

https://subscribe.longevityinsider.org/subscribe/landing-1-a/: This is a daily update on the discoveries being made, or on the horizon, in rejuvenation or potentially reversing aging. It is a AI scavenge of the day’s technical advancement announcements and links to the data. Dr. Peter Diamantes is one of the founders of a Stem Cell Clinic in Panama that Tony Robbins went to to rebuild a shoulder he injured decades ago, degenerating ever since, and now completely functional. Tony and Diamantes wrote their recent book: Life Force, and started a company to bring the reversal of aging to clinical reality in the US and the world with a website https://www.lifeforce.com/. Their initial product offerings are interesting, but in my mind not the most advanced yet.

Raising NAD+ to youthful levels: This literally boosts energy levels like we were thirty again. The forerunners/developers of the market is Renuebyscience.com (link is my affiliate link – I get a commission if I get you there first) and these are the products I have been using for about 3 years. NMN is one enzyme step from NAD+, crosses the Blood/brain barrier, and is very effective at rising NAD at the cellular level, including in neurons. I currently use the NMN liposomal powder capsules, and the NAD+ Nasal Spray, and have used the topical skin lotion for sun damage.

The other side of preventing the loss of NAD+ is by suppressing the primary enzyme that degrades/clears NAD+ which increases its level and activity with age (God’s Plan?). That enzyme is know as CD38, and is suppressed by the flavone Apigenin. I looked for a potent Apigenin supplement and found this. So I now take one of these daily.

The last thing I want to mention is the process of Senescence, which is the the end of the cell cycle when a cell can (for a number of reasons) no longer propagate/divide). In youth our immune system kills these off when no longer needed; as we age however, they begin to accumulate like zombies and produce a bouquet of inflammatory signaling chemicals that are responsible for most of the inflammation of old age, and pain, and foster virtually all the diseases of aging from heart disease to Alzheimer’s. They communicate with surrounding cells and connective tissue, convincing healthy cells to become likewise senescent, and melt the intercellular matrix, literally evaporating our structures. Mid-body fat accumulation is marked by high levels of senescent fat cells and the immune cells that they attract, which also become senescent as this grows with age.

Drugs are in the works that selectively kill these zombie cells (called Senolytics), but there are supplements available that do a reasonably good job when taken at high doses for a short time every few months. I used to build my own from a number of supplements, but Life Extension came out with one that I now use: Senolytic Activator, (also an affiliate link) which I now use every 3 months. I take bottle (36 capsules) in 3 days in divided doses between meals, with lots of water, when my stomach will be empty for at least an hour. I’m thinking about making my own topical formula by dissolving the capsules contents in DMSO and Saline for reducing love handles, acting as my own lab rat.
