More on vitamin K2 and Joint Repair

In my last article I said I was going to take 30 mg/day of the Metatetrenone form of VitaminK2(MK-4); well, I went for the broadside approach and have been using 15 mg/meal, 45 mg/day. At this writing, I have been through the first 30 days and can report considerable improvement in comfort, particularly in the left hand which was more moderately affected. The right hand is a bit harder to assess because I did visit a hand specialist and had a cortisone shot in the basal thumb joint; so it probably feels better because of the shot.

I have not had a chance to test blood for LDL particle size improvement or reduced calcification of my abdominal aorta, but should get those results later this year.

I have spent weeks reading on www.jackkruse.com about a wide range of topics explaining the science behind his formula for optimally feeding and managing the ongoing health of the human body. There is months of fascinating material to wade through; very ahead-of-the-curve thinking on how we developed as a species, stood upright, got big brains, and how we must have eaten to accomplish that. He has a series of discussions on how the development of our brains involved the acquisition of our gut flora specifically from food items from the sea; shown by the inclusion of ocean-based viral DNA in our Gene Map, and the need for large amounts of the fat DHA to spur brain size. He starts with “Brain-Gut 1” and the series is up to “Brain-Gut 16”. I’ve made it to number 8 so far. This is fascinating reading and I recommend it to anyone with a deep interest in this science.
