Tinnitus will drive you crazy if you do not stop it or mask it, but if you're here, then I'm sure you already knew that. A proven way of dealing with tinnitus is to use maskers, which are basically things that emit sounds which mask the ringing in your ears.
Here are a few maskers which you can try out tonight to stop your tinnitus:
Leave the TV on
If you have a television in your bedroom, try leaving it on tonight at a volume which is audible but not too loud. Find a channel where the programs involve a lot of talking so falling asleep will not be too difficult.
Leave the radio on
An alternative to leaving your TV on at night is to leave a radio on or leave some soft music playing. You'll find that when you have some quiet and pleasant music playing when you're trying to go to sleep (or even when you're just trying to stop your tinnitus), your ringing will go away and you'll feel much more relaxed.
Ambient noises in your house
If it's really hot, turn on a fan. The humming of a fan is an effective tinnitus masker (and you'll feel cooler too!). Does your heater or air conditioning unit hum when it's on? Then turn it on! Just make sure you actually need it so that you're not wasting energy.
As you can see, there are alternatives to taking drugs or paying for expensive treatment to treat your tinnitus.
Maskers are great for "distracting" your ears in a way, but they are not permanent solutions to your tinnitus. Download your Tinnitus ebook @ http://tinyurl.com/nhw396 now.
