If you are trying to waylay any sort of discomfort with your teeth, or simply trying to give your teeth and gums preventative care; there are many natural tactics to apply. It is crucial that you brush and floss your teeth to maintain healthy teeth and gums, but you may want to consider using some of the other remedies with oils and herbs. As you read on, we will offer you some insight on how to keep your mouth clean and hygienically in tact.

You will find in this article many tips to help you with proper natural dental care. Our best advice is to use this information only after you have been to the dentist if you have an urgent need. Some people will have, for instance, an abscess tooth which needs to be taken care of right away. A very serious condition that can arise is when an infection in a tooth spreads throughout a person's body causing them to be very sick. Along with the bitter taste and a swollen jaw, a tooth infection that is spreading can produce the symptoms in your body. If you are feeling pain, get some prescription pain medication from your dentist, along with antibiotics to clear up the infection. If you can't get to a dentist, or you can't afford it, it's best to go to an emergency room where you'll at least be given medicine to bring the abscessed tooth under control.

Salt and water is an excellent natural remedy for treating dental problems that you have. These are very popular due to their availability and cost. Preferably, you want to use sea salt, and all you have to do is put some in a small glass of warm water and gargle on it. Eliminating gum and tooth pain is definitely possible using this saltwater solution. Saltwater is a natural disinfectant. So if you want to prevent bacteria from developing in your mouth and causing potential gum disease, you should gargle with this salt solution regularly. This is one practice you should add to your dental regimen, and it only takes a few minutes and costs almost nothing.

Oil pulling is one particular method that is not widely known. Although, this has been a customary method for many years with Ayurveda, remedies from ancient India. This involves using healing oils to draw out toxins from the body. This method has been used by many for a very long time and has been given kudos for the positive effects with dental health. This is just one example of some of the different types of oils used, like sesame; which is customarily used in India. This practice involves placing the oil in your mouth and swishing it around for at least fifteen minutes. It would not be a good idea to swallow the oil; spit out the remaining oil and what is left will filtrate out the poisons in your mouth.

If you want to keep your teeth healthy, as shown by this article, it is not new to use natural products. They've been around for thousands of years, long before there were commercial toothpastes available. This isn't to say you should ignore modern dental practices. It is best to combine everything you have, such as the advice of a dentist, along with all of the natural products you have access to.
