While there is no magic way to stop aging, there are steps that will help slow down the aging process. Aging is a natural part of life and aging skin basically comes from the wear and tear the skin cells face on a daily basis. One way to stop aging it to use a good skincare routine. No product on the market will stop your skin from aging. On the other hand, some products are able to help repair your skin. Dermabrasion kits are one example of a treatment to help stop aging. These treatments will slough off old cells and leave fresh, new skin in its place.

Causes of Aging Skin

Research shows that there are, in fact, two distinct types of aging. Aging caused by the genes we inherit is called intrinsic (internal) aging. The other type of aging is known as extrinsic (external) aging and is caused by environmental factors, such as exposure to the sun’s rays.

Though other skin care experts have identified free radicals and cellular inflammation as key triggers to the breakdown and aging of healthy skin, there is a way to prevent these culprits from developing in the first place-rather than just treating the unwelcome symptoms they've caused.

Based on the scientifically groundbreaking premise that cells-and consequently skin-function best when the pH level of the body is at its proper level by shifting the body's ratio of acids to alkalines, you can reverse skin cell aging to experience younger-looking skin and optimal vitality.

How Free Radicals Age You

Free radicals can form in each and every cell in your body. They feed off healthy cells and in doing so, they create more and more free radicals. As more and more free radicals are created, more and more damage is caused to your healthy cells. Free radicals can also attach and feed of healthy DNA components in your cells and they can do this many thousands of times each and every day. Over a period of time, you can see how damaging – and how aging – this continual process of feeding off cells to create more free radicals can be.

To shift this ratio, dermatologist and National Institutes of Health fellow Dr. Jeannette Graf recommends the following tips:

• Eat more alkalinizing foods. Most people tend to eat three acidic-building foods (such as sugar, refined carbs, meat and dairy) for every one alkalinizing food (dark-green leafy vegetables, garlic, onions, olive oil, lemon, fruit, nuts and seeds, and whole grains)-the reverse of the ideal ratio.

• Take quality calcium-mineral supplements.

• Add probiotic supplements (good bacteria in a bottle).

Diet and Health

* adequate fluid intake (6 to 8 glasses of water per day) is essential for hydrating skin, flushing out toxins from the body, and for anti-aging prevention * a diet with plenty of whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, use of healthy oils such as olive oil or flax seed oil, and reduction of animal fats (saturated fats) helps protect the skin against oxidative stress * exercising regularly helps promote capillary functioning, brings oxygen to the skin which is important for healthy skin, and flushes out body toxins

Summary:

If you value your youthful looks and want to avoid wrinkling, protect yourself from the sun by putting on a sunscreen each morning of SPF 15 or higher. This is especially important if you are fair-skinned.

Cosmetics are a safe way to temporarily lubricate your skin and conceal blemishes and imperfections. Keep your cosmetic routine simple, and stick to a few products that agree with your skin. Don't get involved in elaborate routines with cleansers, astringents, "deep cleansing," night creams, skin tighteners, etc. Keep in mind that cosmetics only conceal, they don't heal.

Start a skin rejuvenation regimen of tretinoin and alpha hydroxyacid to reverse some of the changes of aging and to slow down the aging process. Read out Makeup. Also check out for pregnancy and rosacea
