You’ve been diligent about your diet, hit the gym religiously and even dropped a few dress sizes. Everything’s great until suddenly the scale won’t move. “I haven’t changed a thing in my diet,” you might say. So what’s going on? Alas, the problem most likely lies in the fact that you haven’t changed a thing. If you’ve lost weight, you need to reduce the amount you’re eating to compensate for your smaller size. If you continue to eat the same amount as you did before you lost weight, then you’re eating too much and you’ll stop losing weight. Let’s say that you’re a 30-year-old woman who exercises most days and weighs 140 pounds. You would need around 2,050 calories to maintain your weight. But if you diet and exercise and lose 15 pounds, weighing in at 125, you would only need around 1,850 calories (about 200 less) to maintain your new weight. Simply put, as you lose mass there’s less of you to feed, so your body needs less food to stay at its smaller size. While the prospect of eating less may sound sad, it’s really not that big of a deal. True, you won’t be able to eat as much as you did before, but on the flip side, you won’t need to. If your body is smaller, you won’t be as hungry as you were when you were larger. After you’ve lost weight, you may continue to eat the amount you usually did simply out habit, not because you’re truly hungry. To eat less and compensate for your reduced mass, eat more mindfully. Concentrate on how hungry you are, and make an effort to stop eating when you’re truly full. Once you stop eating merely out of habit, you should have no problem becoming accustomed to your new caloric intake. busiestlady http://www.ezinfocenter.com/8558331/THMO
