Many people do not feel comfortable talking about sexual health issues. What many people are simply unaware of is that herpes is the same if it is on the lips or mouth and/or on the genitals. The same condition just located in a different area of the body. Provided that you were diagnosed with the herpes prior to being intimate with your current partner, you will be surprised often at the response that you might receive when you explain to a partner that you want to become intimate with that you have herpes.

Most people find that they receive a supporting and understanding response however, there are some that do not. It is common for people with herpes to be worried that they will be judged based on the fact that they have herpes. They worry that this will bring on rejection by someone they might care a great deal about. The good news is that the largest percentages of people do get positive feedback.

Some people choose not to tell their partner that they have http://www.accessrx.com/health-articles/genital-herpes-treatments/genital-herpes-faqs/'>herpes and hope for the best by not having sex during an outbreak and by practicing safe sex at other times. This is not a very wise choice for a couple of reasons, one it is deceitful, two, you are going to worry all of the time that your partner will catch it, and the longer you wait to tell the more difficult it will be. Plus, usually the more you grow to care about someone, the more you want to tell them. For most people, the anxiety of not telling is worse than the telling itself.
