By now you’ve heard the buzz about dental tourism. Still skeptical? You might be wondering exactly how much you can save, because even though you will spend a lot less on your actual treatment, traveling halfway across the world, staying for several days, eating, drinking, and sightseeing will certainly add up. To exactly how much, you ask?

Now, you can certainly make your dental tourism experience top-notch and five-star in every way, if that’s what you’d prefer. Many Americans have never even been to Europe, so this might be as good an excuse as any other. If that’s the case, then go ahead and live it up. An awesome European trip that just happens to leave you with a more beautiful smile is perfect.

If you are preferring to take Europe by storm on a slightly smaller scale and a tighter budget, then here are a few things you should know. First, the American dollar has lost some worldwide value these days. With that said, European dental care, specifically dental care in Budapest, Hungary, is still some of the most affordable dental care in the world. If your domestic insurance doesn’t cover multiple procedures, cosmetic enhancements, or smile overhauls, then consider dental tourism. It’s probably unlikely you’d travel to another continent to have a cavity filled, but for more extensive work, why not work it into a spectacular vacation?

Budapest on a budget is easy. The current exchange rate is currently 1 USD = 146 HUF (Hungarian Forints). So, for roughly 2600HUF per person, you can stay in a hostel while you are in Budapest. This exchanges into about $18 per night, per person. This is probably the cheapest way to stay, and you might want something a little more luxurious, but, it should give you an idea of just how inexpensively you can make a dental tourism trip to Budapest.
