I enjoy gardening in my garden at night, but lately I’ve been troubled with numerous bug bites. At first, I just wore long sleeve clothing, but I’ve still been plagued by these irritating pests. I came in looking strange, with red, itchy bumps all over me. My husband teased me because I looked like I had chicken pox. He later paid for his comments by rubbing soothing lotion on my itchy bites.
My itchy bumps and my fear for the West Nile Virus began to make me fear to go outside. However, I didn’t want to leave my plants on their own because weeds would quickly overtake them and ruin all my hard work. Since gardening at night was the only time I had available, I decided to look for a solution to allow me to continue doing what I enjoyed.
I found my solution while browsing online at a sporting goods store. I found a bug hat, which has a clever pocket at the top hiding a net which can be taken out to cover your neck and face. Although at first I thought it looked like something that bee catchers wear, it looked like the perfect solution to my dilemma.
I ordered one and impatiently waited for it to arrive. Using it the first time, I found it easy to garden, not irritated by the biting bugs. Finally, I found my solution! Now my flowers look gorgeous and I have plenty of vegetables for the winter!
