There are two important factors that can help keep you younger for longer. They won’t make you look younger, like plastic surgery, but they will make you feel young too! These two factors are a proper anti aging diet, and proper anti aging exercise. You may wonder what the difference is between ordinary exercise and anti aging exercise, but it really is just a matter of scientific research and careful planning. This means that you can have a carefully orchestrated exercise plan that will actually reduce the effects of aging without having any fancy supplements or magic fountains of youth.

As we get older, our bodies start to slow down, and don’t work nearly as well as they used to. Exercise is the primary driver for reducing the effects of age-related decline in the body’s functioning, which means that with the right kind of exercise you can reclaim the kind of lifestyle that you are used to. The first step in any anti aging exercise program is to realize that exercise is not only good to get your organs working properly, it also regulates sugar levels and blood pressure - two common problems that come with aging. There are a number of activities that you can do to help combat the ageing process, including yoga, pilates and even body building.

Yoga is a really great anti aging process that helps to combat respiratory diseases and the pain that is common to sore joints and rheumatism. Yoga is a carefully orchestrated and balanced exercised routine that helps the body to stretch and regain control, and, most importantly, to break down unwanted toxins in the body. This is often why some people feel quite bad after doing yoga, but this will only last a week or two whilst the body is getting rid of all the bad toxins that have been gathering over the years. The yoga exercises can be done to whatever degree you are comfortable with, which means that you never strain yourself or get hurt, like with more traditional exercise, and it is particularly helpful for arthritis sufferers.

Pilates is another great way to get into an anti aging exercise routine. There is a specially developed kind of pilates – called ‘chair pilates’ – for seniors, as many seniors find it quite difficult to do traditional mat exercises. This is perfectly normal because it is something that comes with age, so pilates has been modified so that seniors can also take advantage of the great anti aging properties of this exercise routine. Including simple stretches and basic movements, pilates can improve your physical health as well as your mental health, and increase the stability of your blood pressure and sugar levels.

This is why pilates and yoga are so suited to the older generation – they are just good all-round kind of exercise programs that promote positive results. Whatever your age, getting a good exercise routine can only be beneficial towards your health. It is important for people as they reach their later years to invest some of their time in an anti ageing exercise program that will promote the body’s functioning and decrease the effects of aging.
