( Third grade)
In the United States, third grade (called grade 3 in some regions) is a year of primary education. It is the third school year after kindergarten. Students are usually 8 - 9 years old. At the same age, English, Scottish and Welsh pupils are in their fourth year of compulsory education and in their fifth year in Northern Ireland. In Brazil now, the time for elementary school was recently raised from 8 to 9 years, and the minimum age required to the third grade was changed from 7 to 8 years old. r />
